LSP’s Home in the Knowledge Quarter

Liverpool Science Park is strategically located at the heart of the city’s two main universities in Liverpool’s vibrant Knowledge Quarter.

Since opening our doors just over a decade ago, both the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University have progressively added to their world leading facilities and relocated their key assets back into our neighbouring city centre campuses.

Further to the Universities’ expansion, the Royal Liverpool Hospital, only 500 metres away, has significantly added to the immediate area with their new £500 million facility which is due to open in the next few months.

Also within close proximity, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is expanding rapidly as a result of its well-deserved world leading reputation and delivery.

The Materials Innovation Factory, co-founded by the UoL, Unilever and the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), is another new facility which will provide an unparalleled suite of open access, state-of-the-art equipment and internationally-leading academic expertise.

The two universities, along with the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, have also collaborated on the soon to open Sensor City, an industry-leading environment for sensory R&D companies to co-exist and grow. The Sensor City building is again in immediate proximity, located on one of the main thoroughfares from LSP into the city centre.

Furthermore, an exciting vision for the nearby Paddington Village are set to help transform the area further and increase both Liverpool’s position as a key player in global innovation as well as the KQ’s infrastructure and transport links.

Combined with the cultural assets on offer on Liverpool’s exceptional Hope Street, home of multi-awarding winning Everyman Theatre and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, LSP really does sit at the very heart of Liverpool’s world-class Knowledge Quarter.
