Penketh’s get great start to 2010 thanks to new site by Mando Group.
Following its unveiling just ahead of Christmas, digital agency Mando Group’s new website for Northwest firm Penketh’s is already showing a significant return on investment.

Penketh’s are suppliers of office products and services that include stationery and furniture, as well as refurbishment and a recently added recycling facility. They are amongst the top 20 UK firms in the sector by size and were recently awarded the 2009 Dealer of Excellence Award by the British Office Supplies and Services Federation. Mando Group’s appointment to the firm’s website project came after a competitive tender process.

The resulting site is the product of a rigorous 18-month development process. Having launched during the party season it’s now providing cause for further celebration after stimulating a leap in online sales from 35% of all transactions pre-launch, to a staggering 46% in just a matter of weeks.

As a huge e-commerce portal designed to carry a massive twenty eight thousand unique products at launch, the site combines greater functionality with increased simplicity. Overall it allows both Penketh’s and their customers to benefit from streamlined end-to-end integration.

Key features include:
• Greatly improved data exchange to better connect internal systems.
• Improved search and browsing capabilities.
• Personalised tools, to allow business customers to manage their spending effectively.
• Online management systems that allow users to assign products to particular budgets.
• Mechanisms to offer targeted promotions and encourage repeat purchase.

Speaking about the new site Penketh’s Managing Director, Mark Penketh, said:
“Service and progress are both key elements of our business. The new site allows us to offer fantastic new facilities and features to our customers, particularly our business account clients. I’m delighted with the figures, which show just how valuable the new site is proving for all concerned”.
