LSP team takes to the streets in record temperatures for Ronald McDonald House

On Sunday 6 May, the Park’s very own George B, Michelle and Leanne took to the streets in soaring temperatures to raise money for the incredible Ronald McDonald House Charity in Liverpool’s Spring 10K!

Ronald McDonald Houses give families the chance to remain close to their child whilst they are in hospital. Their locations, as close as possible to one of fourteen specialist children’s hospitals across the UK, with one at Liverpool’s Alder Hey and Wirral’s Arrow Park, means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life and reducing emotional and financial strain. The LSP team raised money for the Alder Hey branch of the Ronald McDonald House for personal reasons.

With such a worthwhile cause, George, Michelle and Leanne were only too happy to take on the challenge of running the John West Liverpool Spring 10k, which boasts one of the quickest courses in the North West. The new route even started in front of the Science Park at the foot of the Metropolitan Cathedral and finished at the heart of Sefton Park, just a short crawl home for the team after they completed the course in in just 58.52 minutes (George), 61.59 minutes (Michelle) and 64.31 minutes (Leanne) despite the soaring temperatures.

The team have raised £295 and counting so if you would like to donate to this incredible cause, please visit our Just Giving page!
