Reflexology at the Park

Starting on Friday 2 November, we are welcoming local reflexologist expert Jan Mullen to iC1.

“Hello, I’m Jan and I love Feet! Did that grab your attention? or are you saying ‘ewww’ feet!

Why do I love feet? …. Because I am a Reflexologist and I think I have the best job in the world because I get to meet lovely people who come to see for numerous reasons from dealing with the many pressures of twenty first century living to specific health issues With ever increasing levels of stress in our day to day lives, it is well worth looking at ways to practice self care and what better way than to take some time out of your day that’s just for you, where you can put your feet up and rest and relax.

So what is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. By working on the reflexology points or specific points, this can help restore the body to restore its balance naturally. Reflexology is a very individual treatment which is tailored to you as a whole person, taking into account both physical and emotional factors that might be affecting your well-being.

So what happens in a treatment?

Reflexology is a very easy treatment to receive – before the treatment starts, you will be asked to fill in a consultation form which looks at your health and well-being, you will then be asked to remove both your shoes and socks, and lay (sit?) on the reclining chair. I will then apply a soothing cream and gently massage the feet before starting the reflexology treatment. With the reflexology, I apply a firm but gentle pressure with my thumbs, fingers and hands. After the treatment, I will then talk to you about the treatment, as well as giving you any suggestions that may help you to look after your own health and well-being.

Here’s some comments from clients:

“I came, I talked , I snored“

“Lovely treatment ,whole body feels relaxed which exceeded all expectations .will definitely be back for me”
