Reflexology at the Park – 2019 Update

At the tail-end of 2018, we introduced a weekly Reflexology session to the Park. We recently caught up with our Reflexologist Jan to learn a little more about how it has been going for her.

Hello! It’s Jan, the Reflexologist, and thought I would pop over to have a little chat about Reflexology and Stress in the workplace! We all recognise that stress in the workplace is a huge challenge which  is why I was so impressed by Liverpool Science Park for saying yes to a different approach! This approach is is Health and Well-being which undoubtedly makea a huge diffference both in the short and long term to your health which is what I particularly love discussing and encouraging the subject.

Reflexology has been shown to be effective in bringing down anxiety levels and reducing the stress response in a natural and healthy way. It is a non-invasive therapeutic touch therapy applied to the feet, though it can also be applied to the face and hands.

So, how does it work? The pressure and touch activates the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the nervous system which moderates, calms and relaxes you so that it takes over and reduces the increasing and heightened sympathetic nervous system during the treatment. The good news is this continues afterwards resulting in you feeling relaxed and happier for longer than just the session.

Last year was a great success here at the Park and I would love to see even more people access the many benefits which Reflexology has to offer. I’m here every Friday from 9.30 to 6pm (although it is worth noting that I don’t check my emails during treatments!) so the best way to contact me is via text which is 07581 482 186 if you’re looking for a last minute cancellation appointment. You can pre-book during the week via  email (therapeuticgardener@gmail.com) or you can text me on 07581 482 186!
