Fresh from a successful end to 2018 and being recognised amongst some of the leading Fortune 500 companies, we caught up with Emily Hill from IQBlade to find out a little more about what the company does and her role there.
Hi Emily, How are you? Thanks for sitting down with us. Let’s kick things off with a nice easy one, how long have you worked for IQBlade and what is your role inside the business?
Hi, it’s no problem! I have worked for IQBlade for just over a year now and I am responsible for the sales and marketing here.
Ah cool. Can you tell us a bit about the history of IQBlade?
IQBlade is co-founded by Ant Young and Ben Abraham, and was launched back in 2016. It is a B2B intelligence platform built to enable tech companies to more intelligently discover partners within the tech channel. We moved to the Park about two years ago and have been in iC1 since.
And we love having you here! You’ve worked with some pretty distinguished clients, could you let us know a couple of companies who have used IQBlade in the past?
Some of our better known clients include Microsoft, VMWare and HP Enterprise.
An impressive list. You were recently recognised amongst a group of Fortune 500 companies, could you let us know what this was for please?
We were included in a list by a company called Forrester. They are an analyst of the tech market, Jay McBain of Forrester has been working his way through all of the channel tools and picked up IQBlade as one to watch amongst many other Fortune 500 companies so it was a huge honour to have been included.
So as a channel tool, how does IQBlade differ from other businesses working in the industry?
IQBlade is a data driven intelligence platform which aggregates open data from a number of sources. The data is presented back in an easy to digest manner allowing users to use the data to make intelligent decisions.
Antony recently gave our full team a demo of your product and it was incredibly impressive! Now on the side, your team have also been running a meet-up called Tech Nomads- what do these sessions include?
Tech Nomads is a monthly meet-up based at the Studio here for people who code and are interested in learning new programming languages, sharing ideas and meeting other developers in Liverpool. It’s a really informal event and the first two sessions have gone down really well.
Definitely one to check out if you work in or have an interest in code! Now onto you, how did you get into the tech industry and working for IQBlade.
I studied Law at the University of Liverpool, followed by a Masters in International Business. I had always worked in technology-based businesses, even part-time during college. So, marketing in the technology industry was a natural progression.
Good stuff. When you’re finished for the day, where would you recommend to eat or drink nearby?
Frederiks, they do a great French Martini!!
That’s as good a reason as any to go. Now, let’s get festive – what is the best thing about Christmas?
EVERYTHING, I love Christmas! From family to delicious food, alcohol and games.
Sounds like you’re really getting into the spirit of things! And finally, if you had one super power, what would it be?
My super power would be to be able to control time!
That would be amazing, thanks Emily!
A huge thank you to Emily for giving up her time to talk to us. As one of the leading data analyst companies in the country, IQBlade offer smart marketing and sales solutions for companies predominately working in the tech industry. You can find the IQBlade team in iC1 busy at work and they’re always happy to give a demo of their work to show how it could help your business.
